Some people believe that the country would benefit a lot froma large
number of young people entering into university, however, others thinkthat the large amount of people
receiving the education of university onlyleads to graduate unemployment. Discuss both views and give
your opinion.
What university has done to our society is of widespread concern, opinion will differ according to
different people, while I am inclined tobelieve that positive effects have been imposed on our
community.
From the moral perspective to the ability perspective,well-educated graduates have been contributing to
the nourishment of onecommunity. A person with morality and a sense of cooperation, for example,
isunlikely to do anything detrimental to others. Subjects such as history, psychology give facilities to
the enhancement of students’ quality. Teachersalso teach students how to cooperate with peers, which
lays a solid foundationfor their future lives and thus build a more effective running system insociety:
cooperation makes things done more efficiently.
Academic caliber derived from school is also beneficial to thedevelopment of one country. Individuals are
encouraged to acquire a wide rangeof knowledge and allowed to specialize in one certain subject at
universities, which ensures the constant influxes of talents of different domains such asbiochemistry,
engineering, e-technology and so forth into correspondingindustries. Therefore, productivity and economy
is dramatically improved.
However, there is, of course, one major issue that becomes aheadache for graduates, unemployment. Every
year, with numerous uni-graduatespouring into talent market, it is soon to be seen that having a decent
job turnout to be a rare occurrence among these youngsters. This problem then isprogressed into other ones
including robbery, fraud and terrorism.
But connections between university education and unemployment havenot been testified still. Reasons may
lie in graduates themselves, as there arestill many cities and industries desperate in need of labor
force. It is acommon situation that under-developed areas are the last choices for many jobseekers.
Besides, for those vacancies which require high capability of somefields, there is a usual shortage of
people who are truly competent.
Therefore, higher education is overall conducive to our society byproviding sorts of applicant talents and
the low rate of employment should betaken into consideration by the government and educational authorities
who areresponsible to solve the problems identified above.
