语言的小技巧

托福考试的评分标准简单地可以概括成三个要素：

● Development

● Organization

● Expression

所以同学们要对于自己的文章进行一定的，可以从这几个角度来准备。

那么对于语言类的考试，很多同学可能在语言的方面无从下手，那么看看ETS给出的对于语言的几个要求，‘Displays consistent facility in the use of language, demonstrating syntactic variety, appropriate word choice and axiomaticity, though it may have minor lexical or grammatical errors ’ 其实无非就是从句式和词汇切入。

下面是关于语言的小技巧：

Avoid wordy expressions

有时候句子里出现很多几乎没有意义的一些词会使句子的语意表达过于累赘，从而出现凑字数的问题，显得句子没有那么concise.

例如：My decision to choose accounting as my major will lead to steady, rewarding employment.

改进：My decision to choose Choosing accounting as my major will lead to steady, rewarding employment.

句子结构的平行

平行结构就是用and并列单词、短语或是句子。在句子中添加平行结构会使语意表达更通顺流畅，同时也easier to understand.

例如：A thesis statement that is clear, strong supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion that should be interesting are all elements of a well-written essay.

改进：A clear thesis statement that is clear, strong supporting paragraphs, and aan interesting conclusion that should be interesting are all elements of a well-written essay.

Nominalization名词化

这个方式是使句子中的动词或形容词转换成名词的形式，这样会使语意的表达更加的书面。

例如：The professor refused to extend the deadline, which made the students feel annoyed.

改进：The professor’s refusal of a deadline extension caused student annoyance.
