Describe an important place like (stadium, swimming pool)in your city

 

You should say:

    Where it is

    How often you go there

    What people do there

And explain why you think it is important. 

 

    I'm going to talk about the public swimming pool in the southwest of my hometown. It's right next to our public library, which is kind of a landmark in the city, so it's really easy to find. 

 

    I like to go to this place in the summer coz I go to university in another city, I can't go there when I'm at school. But when the term ends, especially during the summer holiday, I go there pretty regularly, something around 2 or 3 times a week. 

 

    Obviously, people just go swimming there. You can see people of all age groups at the pool - old people, young people, kids. Many children go there to learn swimming. In fact, this is exactly what I did when I was a child. When I was 4 or 5 years old, my dad took me there to teach me how to swim. He said that swimming was a walk in the park, but I just found it super difficult. It took me weeks to master it. 

 

    Anyway, I think this swimming pool is a really important place in the city because it provides the local residents with a place to work out, to live a healthy life. In my opinion, swimming is the best sport there is coz it's relaxing, it doens't make you feel too exhausted and it trains any part of your body.
