【雅思口语】如何描述一个玩具

Describe a toy that was special to you when you were a child.
 
You should say:
What it is
Who gave it to you
What it looked like
 
And explain how you played it.

在雅思口语卡片题的“人地事物”四大主题中，物件类是相对容易说的部分，然而有的同学还是觉得不知道有啥好说。比如这题问玩具的，很多人都会想到一些玩具来，比如说女孩子喜欢的娃娃、男孩子喜欢的玩具车、本文提到的乐高积木、甚至游戏机。大家觉得一来很难描述玩具的外貌，二来除了外貌之外就没什么点可以提及了。其实物件类的题大家可以多关注两点：功能性和对你的影响。从功能性考虑，我们可以说这个玩具是怎样玩的、可以多少个人一起玩、有什么你玩出来而别人不会的新玩法，等等；玩具对于孩子成长其实起到很大的影响，它有没有激发你的什么能力？你现在回想起那个玩具有什么想法？这些都是可以发挥的。

          

范文：
Lego was my favorite toy in my childhood. I still remember on my eighth birthday, I got my first Lego set from my parents. Since I had been thinking about Lego for a long time, it was just like a dream came true. That was one of best birthdays in my life. This toy consisted of about sixty colorful pieces of different sizes. I used these pieces to build houses, ships and cars at my will. After receiving and playing with this toy, I began to take a liking to Lego. Even today, I'm still a big fan of Lego and the only difference is that my Lego collection is bigger right now. 

I still remember when I played with Lego, I didn't like to follow the step-by-step instruments telling me how to build a standard magnificent palace. I built whatever in my mind following the whim of the moment instead. Sometimes I could make a stunning masterpiece but sometimes I only built mess. But that's exactly why Lego is great----you can always disassemble it and start over again. 

I feel lucky to have this toy in my childhood. It tickled my imaginative mind and made me create anything I want. Thus my younger self was allowed the opportunity to design new worlds in my own way. Right now, Lego has already extended beyond a childhood toy and become my lifelong hobby.
