Speakingof a time that I used my imagination, I would like to give a description about aninteresting experience in my life.
It wasabout 10 years ago, and I was attending collage. That year, our schoolorganized a drama competition in which we needed to create a story by ourselvesand perform this play on a stage. In this process, we exhausted ourimagination.
And thestory went like this:
In thebeginning, we did not know what we should do. None of us was able to create astory out of no where. The deadline looming near, we were really having a hardtime struggling with the script. It was a basically a dead end.
And thenwe decided to change our strategy. Instead of making up a story on our own, wewanted to adapt a traditional story which is already well-known in China- WuSong Fights the Tiger, which is a story about a martial man beating a tiger todeath bare-handed. In this way, we could save the trouble of introducing thebackground to the audience.
But thatwas not the difficult part. What really drove us crazy was that we must changesome parts of the story to make it interesting and surprising for the audience. We did not want to bore the audience into sleep.
Afterracking our brains for several days, we came up with a great idea- we prolongedthe fighting scene and added a series of martial feats including some flips andjumps which were stunning. We even made the tiger able to talk, so that he washaving a conversation with the martial man while fighting ferociously.
In theend, our wild imagination received the praise of the audience. Our performance wonthe most creative award, so it was all worth it.
